Hydrogen & Alternative Fuel Products:
Quantum-Tecstar is the established world leader in the design, development, manufacturing and commercializing of hydrogen and alternative gaseous fuel management systems for global markets serving motor vehicles, off-road vehicles, stationary engines and high altitude aircraft. Our engineers are have been responsible for the design, development, validation and certification of entire gaseous fuel systems including fuel storage, fuel transfer, fuel metering, electronics and software controls for major OEMs globally, resulting in over 18,000 OEM hydrogen and alternative fuel systems sold worldwide.

Hydrogen Storage
Quantum-Tecstar produces the lightest, advanced composite tanks for on-board storage that is the leading hydrogen storage system technology used by OEMs today. Our proprietary TriShield™ technology can provide in excess of 300 miles (483 km). Extensive experience in developing and validating advanced systems for OEM applications has resulted in an ultra-lightweight advanced composite cylinder design for compressed hydrogen that can hold up to 10,000-psi (70 MPa). In fact, we have the only certified internationally 10,000-psi (70 MPa) hydrogen storage system available in the market since 2002. The ultra-lightweight design of our tank resulting in high hydrogen mass by volume coupled with our patented In-Tank Regulator, improve the range and safety of hydrogen vehicles.

Natural Gas Storage:
Quantum-Tecstar has developed a line of lightweight and cost-effective CNG tanks specifically for bus, truck and automotive applications, where storage weight can influence payload capacity and life cycle costs.

Injectors:
Quantum-Tecstar's gaseous fuel injector is a direct replacement injector designed to work with natural gas, propane and hydrogen in internal combustion engines and fuel cell applications. Existing injector designs derived from gasoline injectors suffer from premature failure due to accelerated wear from dry, low lubricity gaseous fuels, orifice contamination and insufficient flow capacity for today's applications. This multi-port gaseous fuel injector addresses these shortcomings and is the first automotive-type fuel injector capable of handling the high flow rate fuel delivery required by 300+ horsepower V8 engines. A simple design provides freedom from frictional wear and sticking that allows for enhanced durability to over 600 million cycles.

Regulators:
Quantum-Tecstar's pressure regulator product line incorporates advanced and patented technologies designed especially for gaseous fuels. Regulator products include an In-Tank series for natural gas or hydrogen and an In-Line, or rail, series for natural gas, propane and hydrogen fuels. In-Tank Regulators reduce the storage tank pressure from as high as 10,000-psi (70 MPa) down to 150-psi (1 MPa), eliminating the need for high-pressure fuel lines running throughout the vehicle. This results in an inherently safer system, and a competitive advantage for our OEM customers. The In-Line regulator is specially designed for use with our gaseous fuel injector and mounts in the fuel rail, thus providing a packaging advantage.

Electronic Controllers:
Quantum-Tecstar has a broad base of experience in designing OEM automotive engine controllers and mass flow sensors used for gaseous fuel engine management systems from concept to production. Some of the unique inputs and outputs needed for gaseous fuel systems are not supported by OEM powertrain controllers. In an effort to minimize the impact to OEM hardware and software, these systems can handle fuel control and diagnostics by means of a separate controller that can be designed to meet your unique requirements. All circuit boards, assemblies, enclosures and wire harnesses are designed and validated in-house to OEM standards and are based on a variety of processors including:

Motorola 683xx
Motorola 68HC11
Motorola 68HC05
Intel 80Cxx
Microchip PIC16Cxx
Microchip PIC18Cxx
Electronic controllers are capable of doing very little on their own. It's the software that gives them life and purpose. Quantum-Tecstar's team of dedicated software engineers develops sophisticated algorithms and routines that integrate vehicle, powertrain and total systems operation into unique and discreet units. In addition to this, we have complete laboratories for development and testing emissions and performance of your engine or vehicle-making Quantum-Tecstar your one-stop shop.

Quantum Fuel Systems: An Alternative Pick
Although it's hardly a sure thing, this little company makes a ground breaking product and has the potential for explosive growth.

November 11, 2004

Those who think hydrogen fuel-cells are a far-fetched way to fuel a car should think again. That's the opinion of Jack Robinson, co-manager of Winslow Green Growth fund, who says that it's almost a surety that fuel-cell powered cars will become a reality in the U.S. and abroad.

A small step toward that goal happened yesterday when GM and Shell Hydrogen opened the first hydrogen dispenser at a retail gasoline station in Northeast Washington, D.C., to service a fleet of six demo fuel-cell vehicles from GM.

Skyrocketing oil and gasoline prices are driving up expectations for alternative energy sources and hydrogen fuel cells, which operate like high-tech batteries, don't need gasoline and are pollution-free. But don't expect to be able to purchase a fuel-cell vehicle before the end of the decade at the earliest.

Robinson named Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide (QTWW) in a recent CBS MarketWatch survey as a small company with a ground breaking product that has the potential for explosive growth.

Quantum Fuel makes fuel-cell storage tanks and ignition systems, not the actual fuel cells. The company also, as a modicum of security for investors, makes natural gas and propane fuel systems for internal combustion engines.

Robinson likes the company for its innovation, management, and solid balance sheet. GM owns 15% of the company.

Although Quantum Fuel is expected to lose 22 cents per share this year, earnings should grow 55% next year. The stock, however, is speculative and likely to be volatile until the company becomes profitable.

Three investment research firms follow the stock, giving it two "strong-buy" ratings and one "buy" rating.

Ardour Capital Upgrades Quantum Fuel Systems to Buy Re-iterates $9.00 Price Target

Ardour Capital Investments, LLC, a New York based Investment Bank and a leading research institution in the Energy Technology/Alternative Power sector, announced today that it has upgraded Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc.(QTWW/NASDAQ, closed at $5.42 on December 10, 2004) to a “Buy” from an “Accumulate”.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 11, 2004 --

Ardour Capital Investments, LLC, a New York based Investment Bank and a leading research institution in the Energy Technology/Alternative Power sector, announced today that it has upgraded Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (QTWW/NASDAQ, closed at $5.42 on December 10, 2004) to a “Buy” from an “Accumulate”. The rating change comes on the heels of QTWW’s 2Q05 earnings report released yesterday after the market close. Although the Company reported lower than expected revenues for the quarter, the second half of FY05 should prove to be positive.

According to Analyst Walter Nasdeo, “The positives for the second half of FY05 include, QTWW expects to reach cash flow breakeven; the Company currently has $14 million in backlog; and QTWW’s recent acquisition of Starcraft Corporation (STCR/NASDAQ) should boost OEM contracts from major automobile manufacturers.” Nasdeo went on to state, “we also expect this acquisition will help diversify the Company’s operations, and increase production efficiencies.” Taking into consideration QTWW’s position going forward, Nasdeo believes that Quantum’s stock has been oversold, and is a clear buying opportunity at these price levels.

Quantum typically announces its financial results approximately five weeks after the close of the first, second and third fiscal quarters and about eight weeks after the close of its fiscal year.
Quantum's fiscal year: May 1st through April 30th.
Next Earnings Date: 9/28/2005

https://www.traderboersenboard.de/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10444

Quantum Technologies Reports Fiscal 2006 First Quarter Financial Results

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 8

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. , a leading designer, manufacturer and integrator of packaged fuel systems and accessories for specialty vehicles and applications including hydrogen fuel cell, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles, today reported results for its fiscal 2006 first quarter ended July 31, 2005. Conference call information is provided below.

Net revenue reached $47.4 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2006 compared to $6.4 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2005. This increase in overall revenue is a result of the inclusion of Tecstar Automotive Group's operations, which contributed $43.0 million to consolidated revenues in the first quarter.

The Company's net loss increased $5.7 million from $2.4 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2005 to $8.1 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2006 mainly due to increased operating losses incurred in the Quantum Fuel Systems segment as a result of lower product sales and contract revenues, the addition of Tecstar Automotive Group operations which had an operating loss of $1.3 million, and a $1.2 million increase in corporate expenses.

Quantum Fuel Systems operating segment revenues during the quarter were $4.4 million, representing a 31% decrease over the prior year's first quarter, which was $6.4 million. This decrease is primarily due to lower sales of hydrogen fuel metering and fuel storage systems for fuel cell vehicle applications. The decrease is also attributable to lower contract revenue, which was a result of increased cost-to-complete estimates of certain customer funded programs, which impacted the contract revenue recognized during the period based on a percentage completion revenue recognition policy.

Tecstar Automotive Group operating segment revenues during the quarter were $43.0 million, representing an approximate 5% increase on a pro forma basis compared to the first quarter of fiscal 2005. Product sales for the Tecstar Automotive Group totaled $41.2 million during the first quarter of fiscal 2006, consisting of $23.5 million in second-stage automotive manufacturing revenues, $15.5 million in automotive OEM accessory parts revenues, and other product sales of $2.2 million. Cost of product sales for the Tecstar Automotive Group was $37.9 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2006. Contract revenue for the Tecstar Automotive Group was $1.8 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2006.

Alan P. Niedzwiecki, President and CEO, stated, "Although we reported significant revenue growth during the first quarter due to the Tecstar acquisition, we did experience a shortfall in development program revenue. The costs of revenues, particularly on the development programs, were higher than expected and this impacted our overall operating results. The activity on hydrogen-related development programs remains strong and we are optimistic that these programs will result in increased hydrogen fuel system product sales during the second half of fiscal 2006, compared to the first half of fiscal 2006."

Mr. Niedzwiecki added, "We continue our efforts to integrate the two businesses and have made meaningful strides, but also recognize that we need to continue to focus on reducing our operating expenses and cost structure. In terms of business development activities, we believe that we are developing valuable relationships with new OEMs in both our hydrogen and mainstream automotive segments that will lead to new business opportunities. Furthermore, we see the rising price of oil as a major driving factor in our alternative fuels and fuel cell vehicle business, and we believe the demand for our products will increase both domestically and internationally."
